Institution Innovation Council
The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, through MHRD's Innovation Cell (MIC). The council aims to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
Objectives
- Create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem within the institution
- Establish start-up supporting mechanisms in higher education
- Prepare the institute for Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA)
- Establish functional ecosystem for scouting ideas and pre-incubation of projects
- Develop improved cognitive ability for technology-oriented students
Functions of Institution Innovation Council
- Conduct innovation and entrepreneurship activities as prescribed by Central MIC
- Identify and reward innovations; share success stories across the institution
- Organize workshops, seminars, and interactions with entrepreneurs and investors
- Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organisations
- Create an institutional innovation portal for faculty and student projects
- Organise hackathons, idea competitions, and mini-challenges with industry involvement
